My list of complaints has grown longer than a CVS receipt
But still without you I feel so empty, so incomplete
Never thought I'd write an album about you
But did I really think it wouldn't be all gloom?
Empty cans all around -- Natty Lights I'm too broke for the real shit
I can't seem to break this. The long nights and fake shit. You don't call and I'm waiting, but this lights off and I'm fading.
So I'll send a copy of this record
Hope you don't burn it down like our pictures
Titled "thanks for everything you did"
Signed by "someone who just can't forget"

Nostalgia

Find our way back to the summer of '16
Reckless driving we were only seventeen
We dreamed of late nights hopping bars
But had to settle for the back of your dad's car
Took that drive to the beach at sundown
Call me crazy but I never want to come down
The look you gave from your blue eyes, I can't unsee and I can never say goodbye
Where has the time gone? Summer is almost done
It feels like we've just begun
Look how far we've come now
And it just seems so dumb how time goes by like magic
I'm so nostalgic
Then we sat with our feet in the sand
Waves crashing by, you had us hand in hand
Told me I could never hold you down
Eighteen was your ticket out of this town
The sun set over this Long Island view
But the pain and the loss was all I could feel with you
Now, look at our lives 'cause we are just like two ships lost out at sea
Never going to look back, sailing 'til the collapse

Symmetry

Close the page, remembering where you left off
On the sidewalk slowly you couldn't speak
Open my eyes, staring at these four falls
The clock turns slowly and I cannot sleep
You took everything that you needed
Now I am strayed and pushed to sea
With this second face that pulls against my will
I can be whatever you want me to be
Become attracted to the symmetry
You broke everything I had
Brought here by your delusion
Double blind-- I see the light from a different point of view that you cannot see
So I'll detach myself, break free from a past life or two
You created this lie to call your own
Your shadow hides the shame inside your soul
This reflection in the mirror is not my own
So let go
